Birmingham Archdiocese is heading to London on 8th June

Saturday 8th June: G8 rally
The day will start at 11.30am with an ecumenical service at Westminster Central Hall.  Then we will walk together as a Walk of Witness to Hyde Park in readiness for the day’s main events from 2pm-5pm.  We really hope you can spread the word and bring a group to join us for part or all of the day. See for updates and we will post information in this blog as we get it.

We are taking one coach from Birmingham (Carrs Lane, depart 7.30am), calling at Hopwood Services (junction 2 of M42) and one from Coventry (All Soul’s, Kingsland Ave, depart 8am). To book a place for £10 per person, call us on 01922 722 944 or e-mail

There will also be a coach from Wolverhampton, organised by Wolverhampton Inter-Faith & Regeneration Network, departing from Faulkland Crescent Coach Station (just north of the Ring Road east of Stafford Street) at 7.15am. Tickets are £15 (£12 for accompanied children under 18). To book a place, send cash/ cheque (payable to WIFRN) to Wolverhampton Inter-Faith & Regeneration Network, 24 School Street, Wolverhampton WV1 4LF, including your name and address, contact phone number and e-mail address. For any queries about the Wolverhampton coach, call 01902 427601 or e-mail, copying in

There is the possibility of a coach from Stoke/Stafford (if there is enough interest in the Stoke area), so please let us know as soon as possible if you would like to book a seat. We will share details with you as we get them. For those in the south of the diocese, we presume it would be easier to make your own way there, but we know how great it is to travel with other campaigners on the day, so we’re hoping to have ‘Sherpas’ at various train and coach stations, who could help gather campaigners together. If you’d be willing to be a Sherpa (just a point of contact at your departure station, nothing more), or would like details of those you could join, let us know. We hope to see you there!
