Over the next week CAFOD Birmingham will be posting some ideas of things to get involved with this Autumn… So be sure to keep an eye on the blog!
To start us off we have Harvest Fast Day, this Friday 4th October…
This Harvest Fast Day CAFOD asks you to make a place at your table for families around the world who don’t have enough to eat.
God has created a beautiful, abundant world. If we look after it wisely, everyone can have enough to eat. Yet 870 million people – one in eight of us – will go to bed hungry tonight.
Use our Fast Day resources, prayer and parish talk to promote Harvest Fast Day in your Parish. Your regular donation will help us make sure the world’s poorest families have enough food today and for the future.
This Harvest, Cardinal Cormac Murphy-O’Connor is encouraging us all to consider making this commitment. The Cardinal is saying this:
“This Harvest, as CAFOD’s patron, I’m asking you to consider giving a regular donation to support CAFOD’s work. Making a place at your table for people who face hunger and hardship is a powerful way to express our shared faith and to show God’s love in action.”
