Frances raises funds for new dam in Kitui Diocese

Long-standing CAFOD volunteer at St Mary’s, Harborne,  Frances Kerr has set aside some of her holiday time to raise funds for CAFOD.

This summer her family holidayed on St Mary’s Island in the Scilly Isles. Despite only doing fairly short runs usually, Frances was inspired by the Hands On Kitui programme to run around the island and get sponsored. She is aiming towards a target of £500 which is going towards the renewing of the dam in Kitui diocese, Kenya, so that 600 families have clean water again.121 (1)

Frances said: “The island turned out to be 13 miles in circumference, not 11!  It was very hot, very hilly, and very scenic!  Family kept me company through out and kept telling me that sitting down was bad for me and it was easier to keep running, so I did!”

Well done Frances! Normally only running short distances, Frances has gone the extra mile to support those in need.
