The Parish of Corpus Christi in Oxford was delighted to hold one of the Diocesan Memorial Masses which pay tribute to and remember CAFOD supporters who have died. The Mass on Sunday 6 November was celebrated by Canon Mervyn Tower who, in his introduction and prayers, gave thanks for deceased supporters of CAFOD and its vital work throughout the world.
The hymns, reflecting the themes of thanksgiving, justice and peace, were led by the Filipino music group and the Book of Remembrance was presented with the gifts at the Offertory and then displayed on the altar. Families and friends of CAFOD supporters were sent invitations to the Mass and everyone was invited for refreshments afterwards.
One of our parishioners was very pleased to find the name of her husband commemorated in the Book of Remembrance which made it truly a celebration of personal and parish significance.
Thanks Canon Mervyn, Maggie & John (CAFOD volunteers) and all who organised the mass. May the souls of our dear ones rest in peace!
